When it hits close to home…
Our MSP client was intentionally locked out of their system before harm was done after the CEO was targeted in a deceptive scam. So, let’s talk about how this happened.
Early one morning, we received a stressful phone call from the CEO’s assistant of one of our MSP clients, to let us know that they had been locked out of their systems and emails. This is something we were fully aware of as our top-level, industry-leading security had caught the attack and prevented damage before the hacker gained control.
The client was a regular user of Adobe Sign and fell victim to a scam posing as this service. Without thinking, or verifying the sender, they clicked and opened the phishing email which caused our defense systems to kick in.
